  1. Life Child

Originally written and performed by prog-rock artist Ramases, this song was the first track on his album 'Space Hymns', released in 1971. The musicians on that album were the members of the band 10cc, before they actually became 10cc and went on to worldwide success in the 1970's and 80's. Ramases was Kimberley Barrington Frost from Sheffield, England. The story goes that he believed he was the reincarnation of an Egyptian Pharoah, intent on spreading the Pharoah's message through music. This song is one of the earliest examples from the classic rock era to deal with ecology and the despoiling of planet earth through human activity. The message is bleak and also prescient, standing as we do on the precipice of worldwide environmental disaster in the 21st century.
